Pets on Focus — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

Pets on Focus ("the app") is made by Phyo Lin Mg ("we"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what stays on your device. Questions: phyolinmg.dev@gmail.com.

The short version

  • There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
  • Your focus history, tasks, coins, pets and room are stored on your device, not on a server of ours.
  • If the app crashes, a crash report is sent to Google's Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix it.
  • The app sends usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase, such as when a focus session starts and ends, so we can see how many people use the app and how. This is on by default; you can turn it off at any time in Settings > Privacy > "Share usage stats". It never includes anything you type.
  • Purchases are handled by Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details.
  • We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.

What stays on your device

Your focus history, tasks, streaks, coin balance, the pets and room items you own or equip, your settings and a local copy of what you have bought are stored only on your device. We have no server that receives them. (The usage statistics described below are separate events, sent to Google, not a copy of this data.)

Your phone's own backup may copy this data: Android Auto Backup (to your Google account) and iCloud Backup (to your Apple account). Those backups are run by Google and Apple under their privacy policies, and you can turn them off in your device settings.

What leaves your device

Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics, by Google). When the app crashes or a purchase fails, it sends a report with: the technical details of the error, your device model, operating system version, app version, a random installation ID made by Firebase, and short notes about the purchase step that was running (for example which in-app product was being bought and whether the store answered). Reports never include payment details, prices, your coin balance, transaction numbers or anything that identifies you by name. We use them only to find and fix bugs. See Google's Firebase privacy information.

Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase, by Google). Unless you turn it off, the app sends events about how it is used, so we can count how many people use it each month and improve it:

  • events Firebase records by itself: the first time the app opens, when it is in use and for how long, app updates, and in-app purchases (which product, and the price the store charged);
  • events the app sends: a focus session starting and ending (the planned and focused minutes, single or Pomodoro, and whether it was finished, stopped early or ended by leaving the app); opening the Shop, the Plus screen or the room editor; and buying something with coins or from the store (which item or product, and whether it went through);
  • with each event: your country, device model, operating system version, app version, and a random app-instance ID made by Firebase. The ID is created when you install the app, is reset when you reinstall it, and is not linked to your name, email or any account.

Usage statistics never include anything you type (task names or notes), your coin balance, transaction numbers, purchase tokens or payment details. The app does not use your device's advertising ID, turns off ad personalisation, and does not track you across other apps or websites (so iPhone never asks you about tracking).

You can turn usage statistics off at any time in Settings > Privacy > "Share usage stats". From then on the app sends no usage events. Events already sent are kept until they expire (see "Keeping and deleting data"). Crash reports are separate and stay on, because they keep the app working. See Google's Firebase privacy information.

Pet downloads (Cloudflare). Some pets are downloaded the first time you use them, from a file server run by Cloudflare. Like any website, that server receives your IP address and the name of the file requested. We do not use this to identify you.

Purchases (Google Play, Apple App Store). When you buy something, the purchase is made with Google or Apple. They tell the app which product you own so it can unlock it, including after you reinstall. We do not receive your name, email, card or other payment details. See Google's and Apple's privacy policies for what they process.

Permissions

  • Accessibility Service (Android only). Used only to notice when you leave the app during a focus session, so the session can end after 10 seconds away. The app checks which app is in front and nothing else: it does not read the screen, what you type, or your messages, and nothing it sees leaves your device. You can turn it off at any time in Android's Accessibility settings.
  • Notifications. Used to tell you, during a session, that you left the app. Notifications are created on your device; no notification data is sent anywhere.

Sharing

When you tap "Share with friends", the app makes a picture and opens your device's share sheet. Nothing is sent until you pick where to share it, and then it goes only where you choose.

We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone else, except the service providers named above (Google Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics, Cloudflare, Google Play, Apple) for the purposes described, or if required by law.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The app collects no names, emails or contact details from anyone.

Keeping and deleting data

Data on your device is deleted when you uninstall the app (and from your backups when you delete those). Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days and then deleted. Usage statistics are kept by Google Analytics for Firebase for at most 14 months and then deleted. To ask about or delete crash reports or usage statistics linked to your installation, email phyolinmg.dev@gmail.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, or to object to its use. Because we hold no account data, most of these requests can be met by uninstalling the app. You can object to usage statistics at any time with the "Share usage stats" switch. For crash reports or usage statistics already sent, email phyolinmg.dev@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
